Estimados Lectores,
Iniciamos el volumen 35 (2014) de la Revista Mexicana de Ingeniería Biomédica con el conjunto de interesantes
contribuciones que presentamos en este número. Además de los Artículos de Investigación, de Revisión y las Notas
Técnicas, hemos considerado importante incluir una sección de Editoriales Invitadas, cuyo objetivo es presentar la
opinión de expertos científicos y tecnólogos, sobre tópicos de relevancia para nuestros lectores. Es así que el Dr.
Enrique Berjano de la Universitat Politècnica de València en España nos comparte sus reflexiones sobre la
“Transferencia de resultados de investigación, desde el ámbito académico en ingeniería biomédica”, mismas que ya
habían sido magistralmente presentadas en una conferencia plenaria en el Congreso Nacional de Ingeniería
Biomédica 2013.
Uno de los objetivos del Comité Editorial durante este año es lograr el ingreso de la RMIB al SCI Thompson
Reuters. Para ello, hemos participado en las iniciativas que el CONACyT ha brindado a las revistas
mexicanas, hemos intensificado nuestra difusión por varios medios y hemos continuado ofreciendo
Cursos-Taller para el apoyo en la escritura de textos científicos. Consideramos que éstas y otras acciones nos
permitirán incrementar la presencia internacional de la RMIB en el corto plazo. Los invitamos a participar
activamente en estas iniciativas para continuar el fortalecimiento de nuestra Revista Mexicana de Ingeniería
Biomédica.

Dear Readers,
We begin the 35th volume (2014) of the Revista Mexicana de Ingeniería Biomédica with the interesting set of
scientific and technical contributions included in this issue. Besides original articles, reviews and technical notes, we
have considered important the inclusion of an Invited Editorials section, with the purpose of presenting the opinion
of science and technology experts, on Biomedical Engineering topics, relevant to our readers. To do so, Dr. Enrique
Berjano, from Universitat Politècnica de València in Spain, shares with us his reflections on “The
transfer of research results from the academic environment on Biomedical Engineering”, that had
already been presented in a plenary speak during the National Conference on Biomedical Engineering in
2013.
One of the objectives of the Editorial Board during this year is to accomplish the inclusion of the RMIB to the
SCI Thomson Reuters. To do this, we have been participating of the initiatives that the CONACyT has been
providing to mexican scientific journals, we have intensified the RMIB’s publicity through several means and we
have continued to offer workshops on how to write scientific papers. We consider that these and other actions will
allow to increment the international presence of the RMIB in the short run. We invite you to actively
participate on these initiatives to continue the strengthening of our Revista Mexicana de Ingeniería
Biomédica.
