Estudio Comparativo de Cuatro Métodos de Compresión para Imágenes de Resonancia Magnética Nuclear
Abstract
We present a comparison between four methods used for the compression of magnetic resonance medical images. The methods tested were: Fourier and cosine transform, wavelets and wavelet packets. Results are compared with the literature, and the conclusions show that cosine transform methods outperform Fourier transform methods previously mentioned. In particular, we show by visual quality, differences images and mean square error criteria that the wavelet packet five level decomposition using log of energy as entropy criterion is the most suitable method for magnetic resonance images of the brain.
